Tobacco use costs Switzerland more than CHF 6 billion a year

The Confederation is not enforcing the law.

While the number of male smokers is falling, the number of female smokers continues to rise. However, their health is more severely affected and they find it more difficult to give up cigarettes than their male peers.

In a decisive move, the World Health Organization (WHO) has issued an urgent call to action, urging governments worldwide to implement stringent measures to regulate e-cigarettes and curb their growing appeal among young people.
