Swiss Lung League

Lung League
The Lung League is a nationwide service organisation for the lungs and respiratory tract. It consists of 19 cantonal lung leagues, the central organs and the Swiss office. The office in Bern coordinates the activities of the leagues, launches projects in health promotion and prevention and represents the organisation and its members vis-à-vis health insurance companies and the authorities. The cantonal leagues and their counselling services are the contact points for those affected and their relatives. They look after lung patients, support them in dealing with their illness and are active in the prevention of lung diseases. More than 700 employees of the Lung League are committed to helping the sick and the healthy. Among them are many qualified nurses and social workers. Internal training and further education programmes increase their professionalism and competence in medical-therapeutic and psychosocial help for lung patients.
